Spider-Man: Far From Home, the second installment of the MCU's Spider-Man trilogy starring Tom Holland, is set to make its debut on Disney+ next month.
According to The Direct, Disney has confirmed that Spider-Man: Far From Home will be available to Disney+ subscribers in the United States starting from Friday, November 3, 2023. This film takes place after the events of Avengers: Endgame and follows Peter Parker as he embarks on a European summer trip with his friends. However, Peter's plan to temporarily retire his Spider-Man persona in New York is abruptly disrupted when Nick Fury enlists the young hero's assistance in thwarting the Elementals, which are later revealed to be the creations of Mysterio. Notably, Spider-Man: Far From Home became the first Spider-Man film to cross the $1 billion milestone at the box office.
The arrival of Spider-Man: Far From Home on Disney+ follows the inclusion of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy featuring Tobey Maguire, the Andrew Garfield-led The Amazing Spider-Man series, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Venom in the platform's library. With this addition, Disney+ will be one step closer to offering all Spider-Man-related titles from Sony, with Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Morbius being the only titles not yet available for streaming.
What Lies Ahead for Tom Holland's Spider-Man?
Marvel Studios and Sony are in the process of developing a fourth MCU-set Spider-Man film, bringing back Tom Holland as the beloved Web-Slinger. While plot details for Spider-Man 4 are closely guarded, rumors have hinted at potential ties to the forthcoming Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. However, given the series' creative overhaul, these connections may evolve or be discarded. Fans will recall that Charlie Cox's Daredevil briefly intersected with Tom Holland's Spider-Man in their civilian identities as Matt Murdock and Peter Parker in No Way Home.
Additionally, Sony continues to expand its Spider-Man Universe (SSU), focusing on standalone features for iconic Spider-Man villains such as Venom and Kraven the Hunter. The latter, featuring Taylor-Johnson as the titular Spider-Man antagonist, recently saw its release date pushed from October 2024 to late 2024. Upcoming SSU projects include Madame Web, a third Venom film, and two live-action series for Prime Video: Silk: Spider Society and an unnamed Spider-Man Noir series. While El Muerto, starring Bad Bunny as the masked wrestler, was in development at Sony, it appears to have been canceled following Bad Bunny's exit in September 2023.
Mark your calendars for November 3, when Spider-Man: Far From Home lands on Disney+.
